This zither is called kropeu (literally "crocodile"). It’s no longer played in Cambodia. The last female player of this instrument lived in Surin in the Khmer-speaking province of Thailand. She has since passed away. This instrument was rebuilt under the direction of Patrick Kersalé from an original preserved at Cambodian Cultural Village of Siem Reap.
